WIP Icicles N Snow
Step 1: Gather your supplies:
-white yarns and/or fibers
-clear beads with silver center
-basic sewing supplies
Step 2: Cut your materials
-center stabilizer 2.5×3.5 inches
-front fabric 5×6 inches
-back 2.25×3.25 inches
-yarns/fibers 2 strands each 10 inches
Step 3: Place the the stabilizer in the center of the front piece of fabric. Working from the front of the fabric gather your yarns/fibers line them up at the top of your card. (the stabilizer is your finished size so I refer to this as the card) Hand stitch them along the top of the card.
Step 4: Bunch the yarns/fibers onto the card and move them around until it looks pleasing to you.
Step 5: Stitch the fibers down. I find it easier to stitch down the edges first so I know they are covered well, then work in the center.
Step 6: Start your random icicles with your beads. This is the most time consuming part, so put on a movie and make yourself comfy!
Step 7: Once the beads are completely sewn on play with the stabilizer to make it lay as flat as possible. Don’t worry if it doesn’t lay flat, just adds character.
Step 8: Turn the piece over and stitch the back on.
Step 9: Fold the front back the edge is against the card(stabilizer).
Step 10: Fold again and stitch the edge down. Do this around the whole card.
