Bright Turquoise Tatted Bookmark

This bookmark turned out beautifully.  I had a hard time with all the reversing of work to join in weird places but it really worked out well.  The thread is HHLizbeth Bright turquoise Dk. 100% Egyptian Cotton size 20.  This bookmark counts as #14 for the 25 Motif Challenge.  This is available at my Etsy shop.

Green and Pink tatted edging

This pattern can be found in the May/June 2010 issue of Piecework magazine.  The piece featured in the article was from Irene Buckland’s sample book of tatting.  It is such an awesome idea to have a sample book.   I have several pieces of tatting, and other types of lace I have made over the years, just waiting for me to make them into a sample book.

Thread used is HHLizbeth cotton Leaf Green Lt , and Dusty Rose Lt in size 20.  This counts as #13 for the 25 Motif Challenge.

Tatted Bookmarks

All last week I was out-n-about, which meant there was a  lot of time for tatting.   Many people asked me what I was doing.  It’s a shame that tatting isn’t as well known as crochet or knitting, because it truly is beautiful.  A few people stopped and told me stories about the pieces of tatting that they have, and their loved ones who tatted.  It was nice to hear about tatted family heirlooms.  Last weekend, my Uncle Gar gave me the most beautiful collection of door knobs, so you will be seeing a lot of those in my photos. I took a group picture with my crocheted coffee coasters.  I didn’t realize how many I made;  time flies by when you are having fun.

This week, I will be listing several bookmarks at my Etsy shop.  If you would like to purchase one, but do not have an Etsy account, please contact me at shadetreeart.com@gmail.com

Green Tatted Bookmark

Today I was too early for an appointment so I started making bookmarks.  You have seen these before in my blog, they are so easy for me to work on while out-n-about, since I have the pattern memorized.  Today I made a total of 4.  2 using LizBeth thread color Spring Green 680 in size 10,  1 in LizBeth thread color 691 in size 20,  and 1 in LizBeth thread color Med. blue 651 in size 20.    Very happy to report that the blue bookmark sold to a lady who was watching me work.

I am counting this green one as number 5 for the 25 Motif Challenge. This bookmark is available at my Etsy shop.
