An article in Cloth.Paper.Scissors inspired me to make this postcard. My backgrounds are acrylic paint on bristol smooth paper. These were painted some time ago. I love having a stack of handmade backgrounds at my fingertips. Also used lots of various rubber stamps. I have a great collection of stamps but rarely use them like this, which was fun and must do more often. I had mentioned in a post that I needed a great stamp for the backs of my postcard. The ever so awesome Eggstudio went online to find the stamp I now use!! Thanks Greer.

Sunday Postcard Art’s challenge this week is Trees!! I did mine in fabrics. They were both fun to do but that Zetti Tree was a bit hard. I tried to use a die cut…. bah what a mistake. It made a nice indent in the fabric and cut in very few places so I had to get in there with little scissors to cut the swirls out.

They say that Artscape is America’s largest free public arts festival!! The Baltimore Sun article. I love going to this every year, you just never know what you will find. It took us 3 hours to see the whole thing. We saw a parade of art cars which had us laughing and it ended up being the only pictures we took.
There was so much to see but these are the artists that I got postcards, cards or something from.

Paper n Fabric Layers 1 is about 9 different layers machine stitched on the base of my rusted fabric. Some simple embroidery stitches and a stamped image were added. The front and back of the postcard are glued to a center piece of thick stabilizer. I really enjoyed making this type of postcard and look forward to creating more.
